This document describes how to manage your server-side password on the SME Server. Access to this function is provided via the SME Server 'User Manager' web interface.

Each user can change their own settings from any location with network access.

With laptops running in your network it is important that the local password matches what the server is expecting.

 

To access the User Manager:

  • Open your web browser.
  • Enter the URL (website address) for your server followed by "/user-manager". If you are not sure of your URL please contact us. Our recommendation is that you save this link in your browser "favourites".
eg mail.yourdomainname.co.nz/user-manager
  • Login using your 'old' network user name and password.
  • In the left-hand menu, click the option "Change Password"

 

Changing your password:

  1. Enter your old password and the new password twice.
  2. Click change password in the bottom right.
